In my day job at Builtvisible, I get to work with engineering teams all over the world.
Over the years I’ve noticed that SEO has a decidedly mixed reputation among developers - some enjoy the novel technical challenges that come with optimising complex websites for crawlers, while others approach the entire field as if it were a dark art or pseudoscience.
This is hardly surprising, given the number of quacks and con-artists who pose as SEO experts. But it’s also a shame, because (real) SEO is a fascinating area to specialise in. There are hundreds of people in this industry who I really look up to, and who take the time to share their expertise with the community via their blogs.
This was the motivation behind my article for Smashing Magazine a few years ago, and it’s why I’ve written a new piece for Moz too.
In the spirit of being a productive member of the SEO community (and because it’s been ages since I did any freelance writing), I’ve dug into a fun technical topic that I haven’t seen much coverage of:
- SEO & Progressive Web Apps: Looking to the Future: An exploration of how progressive web apps (PWAs) are changing web development, and what SEO practitioners need to know about optimizing them for search engines.
Enjoy, and please SEO responsibly.
